What it is

The core Run Audit product: one audit carried from the evidence the auditee supplies to the issued report, with every statement citing its evidence.

What you do, as the auditor

  1. 1Create the audit, state its objective, and set the scope: the standards, the controls at any level, and the audit period.
  2. 2Bring in the evidence in one batch, or let the auditee answer evidence requests through a link, and read the receipt.
  3. 3Run the design effectiveness test, then work each control in the workbench: read the observation, open the cited passages, correct the drafted work paper.
  4. 4Sign off the work papers, build the report from them, issue it, and close out with the presentation.

Inside the product

What is inside ai document auditing

Audit details and scope

Create the audit, state what it sets out to establish, pick standards and controls at any level with the resolved control count shown before saving, set the audit period, and see the audit's tool map.

Evidence intake and the requests portal

One batch, one receipt: what was accepted, what was refused and why. Archives and spreadsheets included; the auditee answers requests through a link; reliability determinants and testing stage recorded at intake.

Evidence review

Open the file the auditee supplied beside the reading copy Run Audit tested against. A cited range is shown in both, and an approximate or missing link is stated, never invented.

Fieldwork hub

One explicit action, Run design effectiveness test, scans the scope; nothing runs until the auditor asks. The fieldwork hub shows what is tested, what is still running, and what failed.

Workbench

Per control: the observation, its AI criterion results, the citations, and the drafted work paper on one screen, with sign-off. Two testing stages, design effectiveness then compliance test, in the same loop.

Observations

A read-only view of the whole audit's observations for the reviewer and audit manager: grouped by framework and control, split by testing stage, with each work paper's state beside it.

Work papers

A durable per-control record: the outcome in the framework's own words, the evidence obtained, citations to the exact place in the evidence, kept sign-off history, and an optional second sign-off.

Reporting

Three steps: gather the report requirements, draft, issue. Sections come from a closed set (introduction, observations, conclusion, reservations) and the issued report is kept unchanged for the record.

Presentation

A guided close-out shown once the control tests complete: the highest-impact observation per framework with the evidence excerpt it relies on, replayable and downloadable as an editable PowerPoint.

Deliberately not in scope

  • A chatbot. Run Audit tests controls against evidence and keeps the record; it does not hold a conversation about compliance.
  • Advisory work. Run Audit serves the audit; it does not write the auditee's policies or carry out their remediation.
  • A generic retrieval product. Every control test reads only the evidence linked to the audit, never the wider file system or the web.
  • Concluding on the auditor's behalf. The observation is a proposal; the outcome a work paper carries is the one the auditor chose and signed off.

How the auditor stays in charge

Nothing in the audit is tested until the auditor presses Run design effectiveness test. When the control test finishes it writes one observation per control: a proposal, with the AI criterion result for each control criterion and a citation to the exact place in the evidence it read. The observation drafts the work paper, and that is where its authority ends. The auditor reads the proposal beside the evidence, chooses the outcome in the framework’s own words, writes their comments, and signs the work paper off. The generated version is kept beside the auditor’s, so the reviewer and audit manager can always see what the control test proposed and what the auditor decided. A later edit returns the work paper to draft rather than rewriting what was signed off, and every role grant, sign-off, and issued report is written to the audit log.

What an investor should notice

The product is the durable record, not a conclusion handed to the auditor. Every audit Run Audit produces stands on its own: the evidence in the form the auditee supplied it, the control tests, the observations, the signed-off work papers that cite the evidence, and the issued report. The reviewer and audit manager can read it without re-running anything, and the same evidence leads to the same retained result. That is what makes it an IS audit tool rather than a summariser: a statement that cannot be walked back to a line in the evidence is not made. Six frameworks share one workflow, so a firm’s auditors learn one loop and reuse it across CSF, DORA, GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and SOC 2. Firms are kept hard apart, auditees within a firm are walled from each other, and missing evidence is reported as insufficient evidence, never as a pass.
